Hailstones Glass Jewels: An ‘Ambassador’ For International Growth

Staffordshire Chambers’ member, Hailstones Glass Jewels, is celebrating international growth after working closely with Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.

Inspired by the history and timeless beauty of Ancient Britain, Hailstones Glass Jewels specialises in evocative glass art jewellery and strikingly attractive combination of glass, precious stones, gold and silver.

The business was re-launched four months ago by Sue Hailstones after she took time out to care for her mother.

Since the re-launch of the business, Sue is celebrating securing a customer base in Berlin and Prague as well as showcasing her work in renowned art galleries such as the Artifex Gallery in the West Midlands.

Sue said: “Thanks to The Department for International Trade (DIT) team based at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, I was able to join a group of businesses from the West Midlands on an export visit to Prague.

“The trip offered networking opportunities and a greater understanding of the Czech Republic markets. I was delighted to have the Czech Republic Ambassador purchase one of the pieces from my ‘Midnight Sky’ collection; one of my first designs using brilliant cut diamonds.

“Working with Staffordshire Chambers has opened up a number of avenues for the business; supporting me with mentoring, networking opportunities and advice, and the DIT team has played an integral role in helping my pieces to be seen across the world.”

Hailstones Glass Jewels is now hoping to grow further after the success of its men’s range with plans to offer bespoke wedding giftware in the future.
