Staffordshire clinic shortlisted for a national award

Harley Skin and Laser MediSpa in Newcastle-under-Lyme is celebrating today having been shortlisted be named ‘Best Clinic’ at the Aesthetics Awards 2017.

Founded in 2009 by clinical director Harley Spencer and based in an easily accessible location within Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, Harley Skin and Laser offers a large selection of outstanding and innovative aesthetics procedures and luxury beauty treatments.

In November 2016 and following a £250,000 investment, the clinic developed from a one treatment room clinic to a 1446 sq.ft. centre of excellence with seven treatment rooms set out over three floors in a bid to bring the very highest levels of aesthetics expertise to the midlands and the north-west.

Since its launch the clinic has welcomed over 3.5K new patients and introduced over 20 new treatments. The business has also secured strong collaborations with heavyweights in the industry, including Image Skincare and Skinaid in order to offer clients a holistic treatment plan.

Clinical Director, Harley Spencer commented on the accolade: “Recognition for excellence in medical aesthetics is so important and the Aesthetics Awards acknowledges and rewards practitioners, companies and organisations that endorse best practice, deliver outstanding customer service, demonstrate unprecedented skill and who uphold robust ethics.

“We are therefore absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists and are looking forward in anticipated to finding out the winners in December.”

The clinic has been shortlisted in part for its dedication to raising awareness of the importance in thoroughly researching a clinic and the treatment before clients book an appointment.

Kath Cumberland, Medical Aesthetic Practitioner at Harley Skin and Laser commented: “There is a severe lack of transparency in the way that certain procedures are promoted, especially by celebrities who use social media to promote certain practitioners or procedures because they are being paid to do so and not necessarily because of the efficacy of the product or procedure, many of which have no clinical evidence whatsoever.

“There are a mass of unscrupulous providers who have set themselves up as practitioners with little or no training due to the exponential growth in the market. They are unscrupulously targeting young girls by using celebrity photos to advertise their procedures at discounted and time limited offers.”

Around 700 guests are expected to gather at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London, on Saturday 2 December 2017, to celebrate their achievements and those of their peers, in 26 categories, including some brand new ones for 2017.

Awards include ‘Best Clinic’ for different regions throughout the UK and Ireland, ‘Distributor’ ‘Manufacturer’ and ‘Wholesaler’ of the year for companies who deliver fantastic customer service, and product awards for the ‘Best Injectable’ and ‘Energy-based Devices’, as well as ‘Product Innovation’.
